GET TO KNOW SALTA, ARGENTINA

The province of Salta lies in the northwest of the Republic of Argentina. It has borders with three other countries and 6 Argentinian provinces, which are Chile, Bolivia and Paraguay and Jujuy, Tucumán, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, Chaco and Formosa, respectivly.

Salta “La Linda” (“The Beautiful”) is a privileged and diverse province with a moderate and warm climate during daytime and fresh and cool nights. Its magnificent landscapes invite to venture into and to discover its geography with its diverse characteristics.

Originally the bottom of the sea, later inhabited by dinosaurs and then colonialized by the Incas and the Spanish, Salta features one of the most fascinating landscapes of Argentina. It is a province with predominantly colonial architecture from the Spanish occupation, conserving its history in historic casonas, museums and churches, which mix with modern buildings.

Salta offers attractive alternatives. Diverse activities invite to spend the days outside in the fresh air, its scenic surroundings feature diverse climatic zones and altitudes, and the historic, beautiful and magic region is well equiped for mountaineering, trekking, extended walks and horseriding year round.
