Cabalgatas Gauchas Salta

The option for people with our without previous experience who would like to cross valleys and mountains and experience the tranquility and fabulous views of the region. You will spend the nights in tents around campfires.

Day One:
We will drive from Salta through the colorful Escoipe Gorge to El Maray, where our adventure begins. After lunch and a talk about security, the horses and how to ride them, we set out on horseback along the mountains and the river of the Escoipe Gorge with beautiful views and lots of sheep, goats and lamas. Turning back, we will instal our camp, have Mate with homemade bread and prepare our dinner on the campfire.

Day Two:
After breakfast, we will break camp and ride along the Escoipe River in the direction of Sunchal, where we will have lunch. After a siesta, we will again gain hight crossing rivers and forests and will arrive in Zanja, where we will sleep on the Zotelo’s Ranch.

Day Three:
After breakfast, we will prepare the horses and ride to Malcante over steeply climbing tracks where we will have beautiful views over the landscape and pre-inca ruins of the high mountains. We will have lunch at the Del Huaira Lagoons after crossing the Malcante Slope. After continuing the climb to the hights of Zapatero, we will instal our camp in Pircas.

Day Four:
After breakfast at sunrise, we will ride towards to Roncho`s Ranch, where we will stop for lunch and give our horses a free afternoon, before setting out towards the Puente de Piedra and the pre-inca ruins of the region. On the way back, we will stop for Mate and homemade bread and instal our camp and have dinner with the local Gauchos.

Day Five:
We will start our way back towards El Maray through the Del Tonco Gorge, riding on steeply ascending and descending mountain trails and crossing rivers. We will stop in Zanja for lunch and a siesta. Arriving back in El Maray, where we set out, we will finish our adventure with a glass of wine and will drive back to Salta.

- Transport to/from Salta.
- Bilingual guide.
- Tents, sleeping bags and raincoats.
- All meals and drinks.
- Medical insurance.

Departing at 10.00, return on the last day around 20.00.

What to bring:
Long and comfortable trousers. Good shoes or boots. Two pairs of socks. Torch, wind proof jacket, sun screen. Camera.
